PROJECTS

Here are some examples of the projects that I have been involved with in the past:

Teen Library/Maine College of Art Teen Art Program
In early 2012, the Portland Public Teen Library collaborated with the Maine College of Art and student intern Peter Hyde to work with four teen participants to create four original pieces of artwork for the teen library.  On May 4, 2012, these pieces were unveiled to the public and currently reside in the Teen Library at the Portland Public Library.

Play/Create Something
The Play/Create Something program was designed to bring “curated” iPod Touches into the public library.  These devices are preloaded with a number of apps and games that allow the user to experiment, enjoy, and create something.

Game On! Envisioning Your Own Video Game Workshop
A video game development and writing workshop created in collaboration with The Telling Room (2010)

Make Music at the Library Workshop
A four week workshop with Portland, Maine hip hop artist Sontiago where teens wrote, performed, and recorded their own hip hop music.  You can listen to the final tracks here at the MAKE MUSIC AT YOUR LIBRARY album site.

Searching for ME Workshop
An arts and writing workshop created in collaboration with The Telling Room and the Maine College of Art (November 2011)

Buy India a Library
Buy India a Library is a project created by 4 librarians from the USA and Europe to raise enough money to buy India a library via Goodgifts.org.  While the project was active, the team raised a total of $3728.40 to fund one library in India with 100 extra books, a newspaper subscription, and $800 and also four bookmobiles in Africa.  You can read about the project here.
