Portland, Maine here we come.

I am happy to announce that over the weekend I accepted a job with the Portland (Maine) Public Library as their new teen librarian.  In April 2010, my family and I will relocate to Maine to begin a new adventure.  We are very excited and I cannot wait to serve the teens of Portland, Maine!

I thank all the staff at my current library, the Cape May County Library, for all of their wonderful support and guidance over the past two years.  Thanks for helping me be a better librarian and person all around.  I couldn’t have done it without all of you.

Over the next month, I’ll be using this blog to talk about what I’ve learned over the past few years.  Stay tuned for more.

Thank you for all of your support and guidance!

  1. Congrats! Although selfishly I am sad that you will be farther away and I may not see you as much. BUT forget that, CONGRATS!!! They are lucky to have you!

  2. Thank you all very much. I am so very excited and a wee little bit scared, but I am sure all that will fade.

One of the coolest things? I am gonna live really close to a Whole Foods! No more 1 1/2 hour trips to that store anymore!

  3. Congratulations on your decision to move to the vacation state! I have lived here my whole life and have no desire to live anywhere else. Surrounding towns offer quite a different lifestyle than Portland, so I would suggest renting when you first come to find your best fit. But if you are looking to purchase, feel free to contact me and I would me more than happy to assist you. Thanks, and good luck!

  4. Hey, Justin —
We’re all looking forward to meeting and welcoming you to Portland Public Library!
