In November 2018 I made the decision to start recording every musical idea that I had. It didn’t matter if the idea was short, not fully formed, humorous, or something that was complete as is. Every musical idea, from the passing half serious throwaway to the great and grand musical gesture, was going to be captured in some way or another thanks to the help of an iPhone. A few months and a lot of songs later, today I present the album “QUARKS” by Abigail Foster’s Photosynthesis Machine.
According to Wikipedia, a quark is “is a type of elementary particle and a fundamental constituent of matter“. As I wrote these songs I kept thinking about how they were short, small snippets of songs and that the album had to reflect that. Other names tossed around were “Microbial Music” and “Songs For Quarks” but as the songs where short and simple I felt the name should be that way as well. All in all I wrote a total of 52 songs for the project and in the interest of only putting out the best of the best I whittled it down to 33 and that’s what you can listen to right now.
A few months and a lot of songs later, today I present the album “QUARKS” by Abigail Foster’s Photosynthesis Machine. Starting today you can stream the album through all of the major streaming services and more (Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, etc) and if you still purchase music you can do so in iTunes, Amazon, and Bandcamp.
As always, thank you for listening and for all of your support. Click below for the full album artwork.
