Gee Gee Pleczynski

Clara Ann Pleczynski aka Gee Gee Pleczynski aka Clara Jean Moldy was born on October 20, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. She passed away on March 4, 2021.

She was a fantastic grandmother and every moment that I got to spend with her was a joy. I remember her hanging out in the kitchen in her house at South 18th Street in the South Side of Pittsburgh a lot. This is how I remember her most in the 80’s and 90’s. It was always nice to sit around the kitchen table and talk to her. I don’t have any specific memories of that time, just a feeling of joy and happiness. She created that and I will never forget that. You will see me and her in one of those kitchen pictures above.

No matter how short or long my hair was she always told me that I needed to get a haircut. She would always move the hair on my forehead out of the way when she told me this while telling me that I was a handsome person. This always made me smile. She always told Haley that she thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world. I agree Gee Gee. She thought Finn was a girl most of the time she knew Finn and always called Aero the “little baby”. She made me cherry jello a lot back in the 80’s and 90’s but sometimes she put bananas in the jello. That was always weird to me but she never stopped doing that. After her husband aka Pap Pap died, she became the only person that I would do our secret handshake with. All of this was adorable and very much part of the Clara Jean Gee Gee experience.

I will miss Gee Gee a lot but at the same time I am very thankful that I got to spend 40.5 years of my life with her in it. The memories will never fade from my heart and because of that the love will never die. I am very lucky to have had Clara Jean Moldy as my Gee Gee. Be well Gee Gee and maybe we will meet up again. I love you.
