I do not do reviews. We all like what we like and I think it is just simply cool to share what you like at a particular moment. I also follow the Billy Murray in Meatballs it just doesn’t matter way of life. We are here so let’s just be alive and enjoy the moments that we can. This is my attempt at starting a monthly reoccurring column on this website. I LOVE SHARING MUSIC and talking about music with anyone that wants to talk and share. Thank you for reading. Let’s listen to the music:
GEESE “GETTING KILLED”
The entire album, but for the sake of this post you’re getting the song “Long Island City Here I Come” which was a delight to see live in Burlington, VT in early October 2025. One of the coolest albums that I’ve heard in the last 5 years.
WET LEG “MANGETOUT”
I love it when a song says “this is my tempo here we go” starting at 0:00. I dance to this song when I take the dogs out at night.
LILY ALLEN “TENNIS”
From her brand new album “West End Girl” which I’ve given a few listens over the past few days. I love the lyrics but the chorus just gets me every time.
ROLE MODEL “SALLY, WHEN THE WINE RUNS OUT”
The chorus. I love a good chorus, and this is a good chorus.
PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS “THE WYRM”
I love a good 2 minute 17 second build into massive riffing magic just as much as a love a good pop chorus.
SABRINA CARPENTER “MANCHILD”
The Lindsey Buckingham-esque 80’s “Tango in the Night” guitar flourish at 0:27 is lovely (click on the link below for that exact moment), and and like I said before I am a sucker for an amazing chorus. The way this one just jumps into double time with the galloping beat is something awesome to listen to.
DEFTONES “MY OWN SUMMER (SHOVE IT)”
I have attempted multiple times in my 45 years on Earth to learn this guitar riff and I just cannot get it. Cut to Aero, age 13, mastering it in a few hours after discovering this on their own. What a wonderful moment in time.
ERIK SATIE “GNOSSIENNE NO. 1”
I love my classical pieces as moody and maudlin piano ballads, and I am thankful to have this one in my life now.
ANITA BAKER “SWEET LOVE”
I went down a deep “I’m only watching YouTube videos of Freddie Washington playing bass” rabbit hole early in the month, and both Mr. Washington’s bass line and this song really stand out to me as something exceptional.
