I own this blog and this domain so I can do with it as I please and what I wish to do with it tonight is to create a post sharing a list of things that happened to Justin William Hoenke and/or his family in 2025. Someday this can act as a historical document that someone will come across and gleam some information from.
- If you have an issue with the trans community please know that while I respect your right to have your own beliefs that at the same time I hope you respect my right to not give you the energy and attention that you may want from me. I cannot and will not give my attention to those who actively work to hurt or belittle the trans community. Thank you for listening and understanding.
- I am a dog person: I have always enjoyed having a dog in our life. Haley and Finn are allergic to cats, so that’s one reason we lean towards dogs. But all in all I just find dogs to be a lot more fun for our lifestyle. Darby entered our lives in 2022 and every single day with this pup has been a great one. Over the past year he’s taken to entering a fun, snuggly phase. He’s a wonderful addition to our family and this was the year that his importance in our family really hit me.
- Finn as an artist & actor: Now age 16, Finn is working harder than ever in his life. In the past year, he starred in his favorite musical of all time “Little Shop of Horrors” as Seymour Krelborn. He has also had leading roles in three other musicals in the Central Maine area. He also took his first college class, ART115 at UMaine Augusta and got an A.
- Aero as a musician: Now age 14, Aero has dove right into their music phase. This year, Aero really took to the guitar and started lessons with a college professor at UMaine Augusta. They also worked with me to build a pedal board to house their growing guitar pedal collection. A highlight for Aero this year was meeting Emily Green of the band Geese. They talked about guitars and music before the Geese show in Burlington, VT in October 2025.
- Haley as the most stellar human: I got lucky in the marriage forever partner love of my life stuff. Haley is an amazing human and it’s a true joy to spend every minute with her. Since 2023, Haley has been the breadwinner in the house. She’s working hard and has been really excelling at her career working in the local court system. On top of that, let’s face it she’s still leading our family. She’s our compass: she helps us all stay on the right path, and we’re all forever thankful for what she does. What an amazing lady.
- Music: I will recolllect my thoughts and musical ideas into a cohesive project moving ahead in 2026. I have an ambitious plan and I do not have any idea on how it will look, but it will happen somehow and it will be magic. Thank you for your support.
- Anxiety: we all live in an age of anxiety and uncertainty and I am also living there with you and I want to remind you that we’re all in this together and that if we genuinely care and love for each other we can get through this. I feel like at the time of writing I can say that I have been pretty successful at quelling my anxiety over the last year. I’ve just tried to shift my mind towards another side and focus on something more positive. Haley always says that today is the only time we will get and nothing is really guaranteed so why not live know? I think that has guided me, leading me to…
- Being Present: I am here right now, and I can do something with this moment! I have the choice to make it positive or negative. Why would I want to chose to make it negative? I wondered about that a lot earlier in the year and I made a conscious decision to just move my head/heart towards being positive and present.
- Libraries: this was the year that I could see a return to working in a library. I do not think I could fully jump in unless the job location was extremely beneficial to my family’s future.
- New Zealand: We spent most of March 2025 in Aotearoa New Zealand and every moment was full of love with lovely friends and good moments. Thank you to Jamie and Chloe for their most excellent hospitality. Thank you to Lisa and Oscar for our amazing twenty four hour hang! Thank you to everyone who we spent time with. We love you and we miss you. If you want to visit us, you have a space in our house to rest.
- I Live For You: I leave you with this wonderful George Harrison song that guides me in role as a father and husband in 2025 who moves towards 2026. Love!

Thank you for reading and thank you for being in my life.
