Hi there dear friends and readers. Thank you always for following along and thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts and ideas with me through the years. Here we are. It is now 2026. Another year is here. We are all gonna be here for each other this year. I know it. I love you all.
I didn’t do the best job at documenting my musical tastes in January. My habit started slipping in December on an account of holiday music and not one but two bigger “all of a sudden” home improvement projects. Please let this be a small but sort of accurate representation of January 2026. The year didn’t start with a bang, but I did enjoy rediscovering the music of the Deftones with Aero, who got really into playing their music on guitar over the past few months. I have really enjoyed listening to their full discography. I think their latest album private music is really great, but you can’t also go wrong with White Pony and Diamond Eyes in my opinion. I have always had this mostly love but kind of what why do I like this very sad song thing with “A Long December” by Counting Crows this past month. It just felt like winter was really here. It was cold in Maine. This song felt right. There you go. I don’t have to justify it. Other than that, just check out those other jams. They bop. I applaud the return of Arctic Monkeys, and of course I would love more.
Oh yeah. And I still listen to a lot of Geese. I love their creativity and bravery. I commend them for this performance on SNL. Holy cow. This blew me away. Thank you Emily, Dom, Max, Cameron, and Sam.
