Sometimes a whole month goes by in a flash and then it’s the middle of the next month and I’m like HOLY CRAP what happened? What happened was life, and life was lived and it was good. Both of my kids are involved in musical theater and music classes, so right now we’re full on with coming and going to those various events. It’s a lovely life.
I’ll keep it simple for February for two reasons: I wanna move into March’s post and get that up before it’s way too late again and well time happens I’m older and sometimes we forget things. Aero and I were heavy on the Deftones. Aero discovered them, and since they’re #1 fave thing these days is guitar this band really blew their mind. I was happy to revisit them. I didn’t know much of their catalog past the early 2000’s and I was really suprised at just how consistently good they’ve been. Their newest album PRIVATE MUSIC is something that I really recommend.
I will talk about my love for the McGruff the Crime Dog album SMART KIDS at a later date with some other info about that coming as well (SHhhhhhhhHHHHHHhHhhhH) but for now listen! I like this music becuase you can tell that the person who did the actual music really cared about this stuff! I think these tunes are great and are amazing 80’s tunes. So many lyrics are dumb anyways. Enjoy INHALENTS by McGruff. This is my favorte track on the album.
I’ll end with what is a new trend in my posts on here: Justin gushes about Geese. They’re just great musicians and really, really fantasitc songwriters. I wasn’t a huge fan of this song on their lastest album GETTING KILLED. It just didn’t hit me like the others on the album, but I did enjoy it. I think this version of the song solved it for me. It feels like they’re playing it at half the speed than they do on the record and it just works so well this way. It allows the notes that each musician has choosen to play sing and ring out through the song. It’s glorious!
