Our amazing staff at the Johnsonville Library @ Waitohi Community Hub put together a most amazing display for Pride Month last month and I wanted to share that far and wide.
Not only do I love this display because public libraries are for everyone and at every moment we should make sure all members of our community know that they are welcome in our spaces, but also because our team came together to plan the display, to work with the tools in our makerspace to make the display, and then to pull everything together to add creativity, love, and positive energy to the display. This was an amazing team effort and I want to thank everyone that was involved. It is amazing what can happen when the team comes together with kindness & creativity. I am so proud of them!
Over the month or so that this display has been up I’ve seen so many people come to the space to check out it, to have conversations, and to celebrate Pride 2021. These moments are beautiful and ultimately this is one of the things that public libraries are about…celebrating who we are, initiating important conversations, and bringing the community into our space to share this thing we call life.
This is great … Thank you so much for sharing!
And thank you for reading Missy!
